A First-Order Inquisitive Semantics

Abstract

This paper discusses the extension of propositional inquisitive semantics (Ciardelli and Roelofsen, 2009b; Groenendijk and Roelof sen, 2009) to the first order setting. We show that such an extension requires essential changes in some of the core notions of inquisitive semantics, and we propose and motivate a semantics which retains the essential features of the propositional system.
