This is an article based on a researchproject of the writer’s own family history. It contains an analysis of in the memories of two people who had spent the last three years of the Second World War together on the same farm in Lunteren (Netherlands). Dirkje, the author’s grandmother, was a young girl who had to help her parents, important people in the local resistance. Bart was a Jewish boy in hiding. Several interviews with Bart and Dirkje were conducted in Israel and the Netherlands. This article looks at their memories and their
respective traumas.
