About the Journal

Locus–Tijdschrift voor Cultuurwetenschappen is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal, published by the Open University of the Netherlands. Locus was launched in 1999 as a hard-copy journal. Since 2018, it has developed into a diamond open access journal aiming for a wider readership. Locus aspires to be a platform for the dissemination of scholarly research, balancing academic depth with accessibility. The journal seeks to connect scholarship and society. To achieve those goals, Locus publishes articles across all humanities disciplines, as well as thematic ‘dossiers’ on current debates in the field. Locus is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
