De stem van de ervaring: egodocumenten in historisch onderzoek naar drugsgebruik
Abstract
Throughout history, drug users have recorded their personal experiences with drugs and the meanings that their use had for them in words and images. These personal sources or ‘ego documents’ give outsiders access to the user's perspective. However, their use in historical research also raises several questions: For example, what types of sources can be considered ego documents? And what specific challenges does the use of these types of sources as historical sources entail?
