Het zit in mijn hart

Samenvatting

The Dutch documentary Het zit in mijn hart (It's in my heart) follows a number of actors from KamaK, a theatre group consisting of performers with intellectual disabilities. In this 2022 film, we see how the group works on the play Furia, written by Oscar Wagenmans. The play follows the seven deadly sins, which come together in a performance about intense themes such as deception, lust, sex, revenge and murder, combined with food and lots of blood. The style is very baroque – the camera work, the lighting, the setting, mise-en-scène, costumes, make-up and the actors, it is all excessive and overwhelmingly beautiful.
